Yagba women launch N50m girl-child education fund

The South East Yagba Development Association (SEYDA), in Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, has launched a N50m fund to boost girl-child education and enhance the living standard of women in the area.

The Secretary to the Kogi State Government, Dr. Folashade Ayoade represented Governor Yahaya Bello.

Chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Isiaq Ajibola, stressed the need to educate the girl-child to broaden their chances of success in life and promote their sense of community participation and development.

Women leader and president of the women’s wing of SEYDA, Mrs. Ebun Joel, described the organisation as a voluntary, non-political, non-religious, non-governmental and non-profit group.

The chief host, Chief Sunmonu Asani, urged women to join hands in bringing speedy development to the area through the women empowerment initiatives.

The Chairman of SEDA, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye noted that the occasion was significant for creating a platform for projecting the unity, vision and strong commitment of women in the advancement of peace and development agenda of the East -Yagba (Oke-Oyi) district.
