The oath of office and that of the allegiance was administered on Yaro who was until his elevation, the state Commissioner for Finance by the state Chief Judge, Justice Rahila H. Cudjoe at Hassan Usman Katsina House around 5pm.
Speaking during the swearing in, the new Deputy Governor pledged to be loyal to the state governor and that he would not let him down.
“I will be loyal in the discharge of my duties and I am asserting my readiness to work with you at all times. We must tolerate each other and to work together for the good of the people of the state”, he said.
In his address, the Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa said he has confidence in the new Deputy Governor, saying they will work together to turn around the fortunes of the state and pledged to continue with the policies Projects and programme of his predecessor. Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo
He reiterated his commitment to work towards the sustenance of peace in the state and urged the people to continue to pray for the success of the administration.
Meanwhile, the governor has dissolved the state executive council with immediate effect. No reason was given for the dissolution.
The governor in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Reuben Buhari directed all the commissioners to hand over to the Permanent Secretary of their respective ministries.
