Yakowa wins Kaduna governorship election …Baba-Ahmed knocks Sen. Makarfi off

Announcing the result, the returning officer for the state, Professor Abdullahi Shuaibu said Alhaji Haruna Sa’eed Kajuru, the Congress for Progressive Party (CPC) came second after scoring 1,133, 564 votes while the All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) candidate, Senator Ahmed Aruwa got 33,147 votes. According to him, the former governor of the state, Alhaji Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) polled 21,200. He said 34,350 of the votes were invalid.

Meanwhile, Ex-Rep Hon. Datti Baba-Ahmed defeated two-time governor of Kaduna in a heated battle for the much-coveted Kaduna North Senatorial District  seat. This development is a major upset for the PDP.

In a swift reaction to the gubernatorial polls result, opposition candidates including CPC, ANPP, PRP among others in a press conference addressed by Senator Aruwa, called for the declaration of state of emergency in the state. They also alleged that a refuse dump van full with thumb-printed ballot papers was intercepted along Muhammad Buhari Way in Kaduna and other discoveries in Zaria confirmed the grand design to rig the gubernatorial elections in monumental scale.
