He is to assist the Director General in his enormous task of repositioning the Agency towards the actualisation of President Goodluck Jonathan’s Transformation Agenda.
Born on 16th December 1960 in Yaribori district of Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State, Yari is an alumnus of Bayero University Kano where he obtained a second class honour of Mass Communication Degree and a Certificate in General Studies from Bayero University Kano.
He did his compulsory National Youth Service in Malumfashi in the former Kaduna State now Katsina State and started his civil service career as a school teacher, rising to the position of headmaster at Gada Primary School in Malumfashi between 1979 and 1980.
He later became the information officer in Malumfashi local government council from 1986 to 1988, the year which he joined the News Agency of Nigeria as a reporter from where he rose to the position of a Senior Editor. He has attended several work related courses at home and abroad.
In 1995, he served as a member of Finance Sub Committee, Kano State Education Endowment fund. As a unionist Yari became Secretary Correspondent Chapel of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and in 2006, he was elected into the National Working Committee of the NUJ as Zone H Secretary.
