The Youth Initiative for Advocacy Growth and Advancement (YIAGA) will hold tomorrow in Abuja for a three-day enlightenment workshop for some selected students of secondary schools across the country.
Spokesperson of YIAGA, Ukachi Chukwu, in a statement, Today said that event is the fourth series of the event tagged “Organizing for Policy Advocacy and Civic Engagement (OPACE)/Youth Organizing School (YOS)’.
“Participants have been selected from Kwara,Taraba, Katsina, Kaduna, Niger, Osun, Cross River, Lagos, Rivers, Plateau, Gombe, Bauchi, Edo, Kogi, Nasarawa, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Enugu and Ondo states and the FCT” Chukwu said.
She added that as part of measures to strengthen cross-border and regional collaboration, five West African countries Burkina Faso, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Gambia and Sierra Leone will also be represented at the event supported by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), Washington DC.
She said the event among others was aimed at strengthen the institutional and technical capacities of youth organizations in formulating policies and implementing advocacy activities to promote democracy in Nigeria and across West Africa.
