Yobe, a state in wait of a presidential campaign

This is because it has remained the only state yet to witness a presidential campaign in the current dispensation as the presidential candidates of the two major parties have so far not been able to go to the state to campaign.
Both the APC and PDP presidential campaign teams have avoided Yobe State on account of the insecurity there.
For President Goodluck Jonathan, he was said to have twice indicated his intention to visit the state to campaign, only to call it off at the last minute due to security reasons.
Buhari too has not shown much enthusiasm in visiting the state, whose state governor Ibrahim Gaidam was said to have told him not to bother coming, assuring him that the votes there were his to pick.
After witnessing the large turnout of people in neighbouring Maiduguri, Borno State, the APC campaign was said to have insisted that its presidential candidate should visit the state and is said to have included the visit as part of the schedule for the presidential candidate when he returns from his UK trip.
The interesting thing is that Yobe is not the hardest hit by the activities of insurgents as it comes second to Borno which at a time had about ten local government areas occupied by the insurgents.
But while Jonathan and Buhari have visited Borno, Yobe is yet to be graced by their presence. Curious.
