The House extended the period of the chairmen and members of the management committee in a motion that was presented by the executive arm of government requesting the House for the confirmation of the reappointment of the chairmen.
The Leader of the House, Nasiru Hassan Yusuf, who moved the motion on the floor of the House, said the confirmation of the reappointment of the chairmen and members of the management committee was followed by the expiration of their six-month tenure.
Yusuf said the constitution has empowered the House to extend the tenure of the chairmen and members of the caretaker management committee pending the election of the executive chairmen of the local governments in the state.
