The United Marketers Association of Potiskum and Yobe States Harmonised Traders Association have called on Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe to review the curfew restricting riding of motorcycles after 8pm across the state.

In a letter to Gov Buni through the State Security Adviser, Gen Dahiru Abdulsalam (Rtd), the union said the call became necessary due to the economic reality.

In the letter which was signed by Alhaji Nasiru Mato, Chairman of the association, they noted that the removal of the fuel subsidy had posed untold suffering to motorists who he noted had parked their cars and opted for motorcycles.

He said the curfew, which was from 800pm, was insufficient for people to round up their legitimate businesses, especially in cases of emergency challenges.

They appealed to the concerned authorities to look into it with a view to extending the time.
