Their spokesperson, Alhaji Abdulkarim  Isah Ngurum, listed the roads which required an urgent federal interventions to include the Damaturu to Biu, 115 km, Buni Gari to Wade in Gombe State that passes through Bularafa,  Bumsa, Bara, Teteba, Gulani, Fikayel in Borno State and Wade in Gombe State which is a distance of about 125 km.

He said the road linking Yobe state to Gombe state from Buni – Gari to Bara – Teteba – Gulani  – Fikayel and Wade has been abandoned since year 2000 after construction works has reached 50 percent on  it.

“It must be noted that the worst part of that road is from is Teteba to Wade which is just about 50kg. The roads when repair will assist and fast track the movement of agricultural produce across the towns and the adjoining states of Borno and Gombe, thereby boosting economic activities there," he said.

The roads,  will also help the security personnel to effectively improve the security situation as it will allow easy access to areas that might be harbouring element of insurgents.

Ngurum commended the Yobe State Government for the rehabilitation of the federal roads linking Damaturu with Buni Gari,  a distance of 70 km.

"It is the same road that linkup Yobe, Borno and Adamawa States through Biu, Gombi and Yola towns. We are urging the federal authorities to augment the good efforts of the Yobe state Government by reconstructing all the other key  federal roads to give the people of the areas a sense of belonging," he said.
