The Office of the Head of Service of Yobe State has dismissed as false, a social media publication alleging that it issued a release letter providing logistics support to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in Borno State.

In a statement issued by the Deputy Director of Information, Alhassan Sule Mamudo, the office described the document circulating online as “entirely fabricated” and inconsistent with its official records and operations.

The office said it had never made any financial payment, logistics assistance, or related support to ICPC Borno under the circumstances being alleged in the publication.

“The attention of the Office of the Head of Service has been drawn to a misleading social media publication alleging that the Office issued a release letter providing logistics support to ICPC Borno,” the statement read.

“We wish to categorically state that the said document is entirely fabricated, false, and does not reflect the reality or operational records of the Office.”

The statement acknowledged that the Office of the Head of Service maintains a cordial working relationship with ICPC and other federal establishments, but stressed that all engagements are guided by due process, transparency, and institutional ethics.

According to the office, such collaborations are aimed at promoting good governance and improving the welfare of civil servants.

It urged members of the public to disregard the publication and avoid spreading unverified information capable of misleading the public and damaging the reputation of government institutions.

The office also reaffirmed its commitment to accountability, integrity, and adherence to established rules and procedures in carrying out its responsibilities.
