The office of the Special Adviser on Security Matters to the Governor of Yobe State has dismissed a fake intelligence report circulating on social media.
The report, titled “Immediate security alert”, falsely claimed that Boko Haram insurgents were moving towards Damaturu.

According to the statement signed by Brigadier General (retired) Dahiru Abdulsalam, the report is “false and from the work of mischief makers.”
The government assured law-abiding citizens, particularly residents of Damaturu, that there is no cause for alarm and that they should go about their normal businesses.
