A group under the aegis of Yobe South APC Christian Forum for Inclusive Governance, Collective Progress and Development, has declared support for the consensus governorship candidate in Yobe State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group made the declaration during a one-day summit held in Potiskum Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking at the event, the Convener of the forum, Omale Chimugu, said members of the group recognised the leadership style of Governor Mai Mala Buni and resolved to support the consensus arrangement for continuity of governance in the state.
He said the forum was committed to promoting equity, inclusion, peace and sustainable development in Yobe State.
“We convened this meeting not merely as political stakeholders, but as partners in the collective destiny of Yobe State, united by a shared vision of equity, inclusion, peace and sustainable development,” he said.
According to him, the summit was aimed at creating awareness on inclusive governance, strengthening democratic participation and promoting unity among citizens irrespective of tribe, religion or political affiliation.
He added that the forum remained loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC), which he described as a platform for democratic development and progressive governance in the state.
Also speaking, the Focal Person to Governor Mai Mala Buni on Christian Pilgrimage Matters, Emmanuel Ayuba Degubi, urged Christians in the state to support the consensus candidate, noting that Christians had benefitted from political appointments and inclusion under the present administration.
Other stakeholders at the summit called on eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to enable them participate actively in the 2027 general elections.
