Senate Leader, Dr Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, donated cattle, ram and money to more than 1,000 people in Yobe North Senatorial District for Sallah festivals.
His aide Muhammadu Maimagani told journalists in Gashua that the largesse was in addition to yearly distribution of food items and sugar every Ramadan since his election into the national assembly in 1999 to date.
According to the aide, over 4,000 people from Bade, Jakusko, Karasuwa, Machina, Nguru and Yusufari local government areas benefitted from Free Eye Surgery and Treatment sponsored by Lawan last month.
Maimagani also said the leader had also purchased forms and paid registration of about 500 candidates for JAMB, Direct Entry.
He congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to imbibe the spirit of the Eid-El-Kabir to extend the goodwill to indigent families that did not benefit.
"The beneficiaries now have descent means of livelihood and also assist their parents and relations at home with improved livelihoods and we urge him to continue with this very commendable and patriotic disposition."
