Yobe Students get scholarship to study in India

At least 51 students from Yobe State have been sponsored to study bachelors and master’s degrees in India.

The students were sponsored through Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai Education Trust Fund.

The Trust Fund was founded by Senator representing Yobe South senatorial district, Senator Ibrahim Ibrahim Bomai.

Speaking at the Send-forth occasion, Prof. Muhammad Musa Lawan, who chaired the event, commended the balanced distribution of beneficiaries across the four Local Government Areas of the zone.

He noted that the initiative reflects fairness, inclusiveness, and the Senator’s commitment to equitable development.

On his part, Ibrahim Mohammed (Ibbiyo), the Secretary of the Scholarship Committee, attributed the gesture to Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai’s concern for empowering and promoting youth within and beyond his constituency.

He described the effort as ‘just the beginning’ and assured the continued commitment of the Senator to the educational advancement of his people.

He said the students were expected to depart Nigeria within the next few days to commence their academic journey in India.

Some of the beneficiaries, including Adam Mohammed Ibbi and Aisha Mohammed Tanko, expressed gratitude for the rare opportunity to study abroad under the Senator’s sponsorship.

The Chairman of the Scholarship Committee, under Prof. Muhammad Munkaila, had worked hard in laying a strong foundation to ensure the academic and moral success of all beneficiaries throughout their studies.
