The Yobe state government has disbursed 15 motorcycles to the personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Civilian JTF (vigilantes) to protect lives and properties.
The distribution was aimed at protecting the lives and properties of both parties (farmers/herders) against attacks.
Handing over the motorcycles to the NSCDC and the vigilantes, the state deputy governor, Idi Barde Gubana, said the gesture would complement efforts to stop the menace of herders’ clashes and other criminal activities.
He said the security agencies would use the motorcycles for surveillance and patrol in the remote areas where the escalating attacks used to occur.
