He said the state shared borders with Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Jigawa and Niger Republic and therefore said when the boundaries are clearly demarcated, social and economic development would be brought to people with ease.

According to him “orderly planning depends on available survey data…we want to trace our boundaries because if we know them, it would be easier for us plan”.

Shehu pointed out Yobe has porous borders which impends careful planning and execution of projects.

He said farmlands, residential plots and reserves get value when they are properly mapped out. “This is why land reform form remained a contentious subject of discourse anywhere”, he said.
