Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Lagos , the president of Yoruba Education Fund (YETFUND), Pa Ola Vincent said the fund would also be used to provide infrastructure at public schools in the country.    

 According to Pa Vincent, many indigent but brilliant students had dropped out of schools because of the lack of money.

He said the Yoruba who are known  for their pride in western education were now neglecting it due to a number of factors.

He said: “ The  education sector in Nigeria has been suffering for long and, in the interest of the nation, the governments, parents, students and teachers must pull all hands on deck to pull it up  to an inspiring era of sanity and rapid sustainable development. Nigeria, particularly the Yoruba nation, must stop wallowing in the expressions of regret about what went wrong. We should, as a people, gird our loins, buckle up and do what is needed. This is the hope and opportunity which the establishment of the Yoruba Education Trust Fund offers.”
