A clergyman has urged Nigerian youths to stop using hate speech in promoting violence and disunity, admonishing them to become agents of change instead. 

Prophet David Oyekan, founder of the Divine Ministry for Inter-religious Harmony, made this call in a recent  interview with City News, during which he emphasised  that the competing agitations  of Nigeria’s youths across the nation   “ is a welcome development in spiritual perspective.

He said it clearly reveals that the rights of the youths in all the six geo-political zones of the  nation are no longer constrained  as it used to be in the 60s -90s.” 

Oyekan  said   he has been directed by the Holy Spirit  “to ask the youths to completely desist from anything that can jeopardize the efforts of the Almighty to maintain the unity of this great nation.” 

“It is very important to note that the Almighty has been the unifying force  of this great nation since the amalgamation of 1914,” adding that “the unity of Nigeria cannot and will not be compromised  by any ethnic or religious group.”
