Speaking to Sunday Trust on the sensitization programme, President of the group, Oluwagbemi Olubunmi, said it is aimed at making the students better citizens by making them aware of their basic rights according to the provisions of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Olubunmi said it is unfortunate that Nigerians are ignorant of their basic rights and therefore fall victims of violation of such rights. He said as a developing society, one of the basic things is for the citizens especially youths who are leaders of tomorrow to be aware of their rights and responsibilities.

He said the group will continue to carry out same sensitization programmes in other schools across the state as well as expand it to the rural areas and grassroots with a view to makethe people aware of their rights.

The group’s president further said the group has been rendering free legal services to members of the public especially those in detention at various police stations and prisons in the state.
