Youth group gives FG, ASUU 2wks to end strike

In a statement Tuesday, the group’s president Jeskaya Okorie, said, “If the strike is not called off after two weeks, we will seek justice from the law courts for breach of contract and damages to Nigerian students.”
The group appealed to striking lecturers and federal government to resolve their differences and end the strike, which is now in its fourth month.
Speaking as the group named as its patron businessman and chairman of Building Materials Dealers Association, Anthony Chukwune, Okorie insisted the strike “has caused more harm than good to Nigerian intellectual body.”
Both the ultimatum and appeal came on the same day delegates of Academic Staff Union of Universities and federal government education authorities were locked in a flurry of closed-door meetings in efforts to end the strike.
