The Amalgamation of Regional Youth Organizations of Nigeria (ARYON), an independent coalition of youth groups, has called for unity, peace, and progress, to solve the myriad challenges Nigeria is facing as a country.

Speaking during a press conference, the National President of ARYON, Mallam Ibrahim Ibrahim, expressed concern of coordinated attempts by certain individuals and groups to sow division, spread discontent, and foster distrust among ethnic groups in the country.

He said these actions, which have too often cost lives and undermined the wellbeing of our people, pose a grave threat to national cohesion and weaken ongoing efforts to reposition Nigeria for sustainable growth.

He noted that constructive criticism remains an essential part of democracy but deliberate attempts to destabilize the country, discourage citizens, and sabotage national progress cannot be accepted by patriotic Nigerians.

“Nigeria belongs to all of us. Its future cannot be sacrificed on the altar of personal ambitions, political interests, or sectional sentiments. Today, more than ever before, Nigerian youths must rise above ethnic, religious, regional, and political differences to embrace a common vision of a united, prosperous, and progressive nation.”

“We cannot fold our arms and watch enemies of national development sow seeds of division among our people. We must stand together as one generation, one people, and one nation committed to building a stronger Nigeria.”

He also said ARYON aligns with the forthcoming Renewed Hope Youth Festival scheduled for June 12, 2026, at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, as a platform for youth development, leadership growth, community building, sports advancement, and talent discovery.

He added that the trajectory of governance over the last three years has made ARYON to pass a Vote of Confidence on the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“We acknowledge that the reforms undertaken by this administration have required sacrifices from Nigerians. However, we also recognize that many of these decisions were necessary to correct long-standing structural distortions that hindered national development. We therefore urge Nigerians to remain patient, resilient, and supportive as the nation continues on the path of reform and recovery.”

While stating that significant efforts have been made to strengthen local governance through the implementation of local government autonomy, intensified security operations continue to record successes against criminal and terrorist elements threatening national peace.

He also expressed deepest sympathy and solidarity to all Nigerians currently affected by insecurity, especially victims of kidnapping, banditry, terrorism, and other violent crimes. We call for the immediate release of all persons being held captive by criminal elements across the country.

“We equally urge security agencies to intensify efforts toward apprehending and prosecuting all perpetrators responsible for acts of violence against innocent Nigerians.”
