The youth have been warned not to allow social media addiction constitute an obstacle to their success in life.

Mr Abdulsobur Oliyide gave the warning yesterday in Abuja while delivering a lecture at an annual students’/children’s camp under the aegis of The Future Scholar (TFS) and Young Leaders Circle (YLC) with the dual themes ‘An Ideal Student in Contemporary World’ and ‘Moulding an Ideal Muslim Child’.

Oliyide, at the 5-day annual camp organised by the Organisation of Tadhamunul Muslimeen (OTM), the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) branch, said an ideal student must check the rate of the usage of technology.

He encouraged the students to read more textbooks instead of spending or wasting valuable time online, stressing that an ideal student must understand that he has a responsibility to achieve goals which people will be proud of.

Oliyide identified social media addiction, too much socialization, bad sleeping habits and lack of motivation as factors that could constitute impediments to success of the youth.
