Some youths in Anaku community in Ayamelum local government council of Anambra State have reportedly abducted one of the soldiers sent to maintain peace in the troubled area.
They abducted the solider and took away his service gun.
Security operatives, including soldiers, were deployed to restore peace to the area when the youths led by their kingpin popularly known as Vulture reportedly killed eight persons and injured many in Omor Community last Monday.
Meanwhile, Governor Charles Soludo has directed youths in the community to immediately release the soldier and return his gun.

The governor’s directive was disclosed by the transition committee chairman of Ayamelum local government area, Chief Livinus Onyenwe.
According to him, the governor also directed law enforcement agencies to do everything within their constitutional powers to ensure that the soldier is rescued, and his rifle returned.
Onyenwe said the governor had directed that security operatives would remain in the town until the perpetrators were tracked down.
He stated that the soldiers had very serious gun battle with the youths and in the process, a soldier was abducted, and his gun taken away.
According to him, in retaliation, the soldiers pulled down the house of the gang leader, as well as some other youths suspected to belong to the deadly gang.
