A third class chief in Taraba State, Kwe Ando Madugu, in Ussa LGA escaped death as youths attacked him and burnt down his palace and vehicles.
The youths, it was gathered, beat the chief and inflicted injuries on him while setting fire to his palace.
City & Crime gathered that the youths stormed the palace of Kwe Ando Madugu on Monday after he refused to yield to their request to chase out herdsmen residing in the area suspected to be perpetrating killings and kidnapping.
The youths accused the monarch of siding with the herdsmen.
The monarch is said to be on admission in a hospital.
Police spokesman in the state, SP Usman Abdullahi, who confirmed the attack on the chief, said investigation was ongoing.
