The Gombe State Police Command has condemned the violent attack on CSP Adamu Alhaji Idi, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Kwadon Divisionby a group of notorious Kalare miscreants.
The incident, which occurred on May 20, 2025 in Kwadon town, left the officer with severe injuries, including a deep wound on his forehead.
In a swift response, the Officer-in-Charge of Operation Hattara, CSP Ali Madaki, led a tactical team to the scene, resulting in the arrest of 25 suspects believed to be involved in the attack.
Some of those apprehended include Dayabu Abubakar (29), Hassan Ahmad Bashar (65), and Sani Mohd (19).

The DPO was said to have been rushed to the Federal Teaching Hospital in Gombe, where he is receiving treatment. His condition is said to be stable.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Yahaya, along with the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, had visited Kwadon to assess the situation and reassure residents of the command’s determination to combat crimes and protect lives and property.
A statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, emphasized the command’s zero-tolerance policy toward violence against law enforcement officers.
The statement also warned criminally minded individuals and groups to desist from acts that can threaten the public peace, warning that the full weight of the law would be brought to bear on the perpetrators.
The statement said the arrested suspects were currently in custody undergoing investigation and will be charged to court thereafter.
