Youths under the axisies of Traditional Youths Chiefs in the North East region have launched a campaign against political thuggery and drug addiction.

The campaign according to the New chairman of the group  Adamu Yarima idiris,was aimed at educating the Youths the negative side of drug addiction and political thuggery and also eradicate such behaviours among the Youths who  are suppose to be leaders in the future.

He revealed in Jalingo Taraba State capital during an annual meeting of the group that they initiated the campaign because of high rate of involvement of Youths in drug addiction and political thuggery saying the negative trend was responsible of crimes among the Youths in the region.

He said to have good leaders who will take Nigeria to the promised land the Youths must stay away from all vices including drugs abuse and all forms of crimes.

The chairman revealed that the group are  working relation with National drug Law  enforcement Agency ( NDLEA) in its efforts to discourage abuse among the Youths in the region. Adamu Yarima,explained that the group have the backing and support of traditional Rulers in the region and the campaign will cover all part of the  six states in the North East region.

He said Youths were also being encouraged to take the issue of education with all seriousness it deserved and also encouraging the Youths to learn skills and trade in order to be self-employed.

He commended traditional Rulers in the region for their peace effort and encouraging the Youths to be  productive, adding that the group initiative in discouraging negative tendencies took root from what the traditional Rulers are doing in ensuring sanity among Youths in their respective domains.
