Youth groups, Youth Council and Students Leders’ Forum, have called for a sustained military operation in areas being terrorized by bandits in Sokoto State.
Leaders of the groups, Aliyu Gadanga and Aminu Muhammad, who made the call in separate interviews with Daily Trust Saturday on the occasion of this year’s “World Peace Day”, said their calls were against the backdrop of recent killings of police officers and abduction of women Tangaza LGA of the state.

The groups, while commending the military and the state government for restoring peace in the eastern parts of the state, urged them to sustain the effort to rid the northern part of the state of banditry.
They advised youths and students in the state to support the military and the government in the fight.
