The Zamfara State Government has commenced a comprehensive inspection of schools across the state’s 14 local government areas to assess infrastructure and improve learning conditions.

The Commissioner for Education, Abdulmalik Abubakar Gajam, flagged off the exercise in Gusau, where he inspected primary and secondary schools within the metropolis.

During the visits, the commissioner assessed classrooms, sanitation facilities, availability of teaching materials and the general learning environment.

He also engaged school administrators, teachers and students, identifying areas requiring urgent government intervention, particularly in infrastructure, teacher support and inclusive education.

Gajam reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to restoring standards in the education sector, noting that findings from the inspection would guide both immediate and long-term policy decisions.

He added that the exercise would be sustained across all local governments to ensure schools meet acceptable standards and provide safe, inclusive environments for learning.
