The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the governorship elections concluded in Anka and Bakura Local Government Areas of Zamfara.
The results were presented by the Collation Officers of the two local governments at the state Collation Centre in Gusau on Sunday.
The Collation Officer of Bakura, Malam Mudassir Ismail, and that of Anka, Dr Lawal Sa’adu, presented the results to the State Returning Officer, Prof. Kabiru Bala, as follows:
1.Anka
No. of registered voters: 73,777
No. of accredited voters: 31,729
Total valid votes: 30,691
No. of rejected votes: 600
Total votes cast: 31,291
APC – 20,986
APGA – 22
NRM – 449
PDP – 8,292
2. Bakura
No. of registered voters: 92,697
No. of accredited voters: 63,055
Total valid votes: 62,547
No. of rejected votes: 460
Total votes cast: 63,007
APC – 45,467
APGA – 32
NRM – 263
PDP – 15,331
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the two results collected showed APC leading with 66,453 votes against PDP’s 23,623 votes.
Other parties in the contest were NRM with 712 votes and APGA scoring 54 votes. (NAN)
