The Zamfara State Government has donated five Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) to the police to strengthen security operations and tackle banditry across the state.

The vehicles were handed over at the Government House in Gusau on behalf of Governor Dauda Lawal by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Nura Almajiri.

Receiving the vehicles, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello, said the equipment would enhance ongoing efforts to combat criminal activities and improve security in affected communities.

The state government said the deployment of the APCs would help security agencies intensify operations against armed groups and create a safer environment for farmers to access their farmlands.

Bello assured residents of the commitment of the police command to protecting lives and property, adding that security agencies would continue to work together to address emerging threats.

He called on members of the public to support security agencies with timely and credible information that could assist ongoing efforts to curb banditry and other criminal activities.

The state government reiterated that security remains a key priority of the administration and pledged continued support for security agencies operating in Zamfara.
