The lawmaker representing Anka/Talata Mafara constituency in Zamfara state,Hon Lawal Hassan Anka has called on the federal government to provide better arms and logistics to security operatives in the state.
The lawmaker who was passing his condolence message to the people of Bawar Daji village of his constituency said the security operatives in the state could better confront the menace of armed banditry and cattle rustling if they are properly armed and better motivated.
Last week, about 30 people were killed by suspected armed bandits and cattle rustlers in Bawar Daji village in Anka local government area of the state.
"We are begging the federal government to deploy more security personnel to the state even as he warned that who ever is caught informing the criminals about the operational abilities of the security operatives would be seriously dealt with," he said.
He said the killings in the state are beyond imagination and all hands must be on desk to stem the menace of armed banditry and cattle rustling plaguing the rural communities of the state .
"Among the people of the communities there are some who divulge the secretes behind our strategies to deal with the situation and such people must be fished out and made to face the full wrath of the law," he added.
