The Zamfara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening governance, improving service delivery and expanding social protection through the implementation of key Federal Government and World Bank-supported programmes.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Abubakar Nakwada, gave the assurance while representing Governor Dauda Lawal at the presidential launch of the NG-CARES Additional Financing (AF), SOLID and HOPE programmes held at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja on Friday.

The event brought together senior government officials, development partners and other stakeholders to unveil programmes aimed at strengthening governance, improving primary healthcare and basic education, expanding social protection and enhancing livelihoods for vulnerable households.

Speaking after the event, Nakwada said the programmes present an opportunity for Zamfara to consolidate ongoing reforms and improve the quality of public service delivery.

He said the initiatives would strengthen institutional capacity and support measurable development outcomes across the state.

According to him, the Lawal administration remains committed to working with the Federal Government, the World Bank and other development partners to ensure effective implementation of the programmes in line with the state’s development priorities.

He added that the government would continue to pursue policies aimed at building stronger institutions, empowering communities and creating sustainable opportunities for inclusive growth.

The NG-CARES Additional Financing, SOLID and HOPE programmes are part of efforts by the Federal Government, in partnership with the World Bank and state governments, to improve governance, human capital development and socio-economic resilience across the country.
