The Zamfara State Government has intensified efforts to attract international partnerships to accelerate digital transformation and strengthen technology-driven development in the state.

Executive Secretary of the Zamfara State Information Technology Development Agency (ZITDA), Dr Habib Gajam, disclosed this while highlighting the outcome of the state’s strategic mission to Sweden alongside the Northwest Governors’ Forum.

He said the delegation held high-level engagements with leading institutions and development partners to explore collaborations in digital infrastructure, innovation, cybersecurity and telecommunications.

According to him, discussions focused on expanding broadband penetration, improving digital access in underserved communities and strengthening cybersecurity systems.

Gajam said the delegation also explored partnerships in digital governance, capacity building and institutional support for the Zamfara Institute of Information Technology.

He added that the talks covered applied research, technology adoption and knowledge transfer aimed at strengthening local institutions and promoting innovation.

According to him, the mission also examined opportunities for youth empowerment through digital skills development, entrepreneurship and access to global innovation ecosystems.

He expressed optimism that the engagements would attract investments and practical programmes that would advance Governor Dauda Lawal’s vision of making technology and innovation key drivers of economic growth in Zamfara State.
