The KEDCO officials are complaining that at the end of the month, they end up not reaching their target objectives, as a result of this they decided to put people in climate of darkness.

KEDCO, you should not be holding people to ransom by disconnecting electricity in major parts of Zaria city and environs, as a result of alleged nonpayment of bills.  It has however become a daily sing-song among residents. The situation is so hopeless that the residents have simply given up.

Although power failure in Zaria has never stretched to weeks at a time, majority of people are now in pain with this shortage of power supply as a result of mass disconnection. What they have found intolerable is the huge financial losses they now incur daily from near total paralysis of their business.

From the rumours going round, the reason is as a result of poor patronage of payments of bills before stipulated date stated on the bill, though the mandate of “KEDCO” is to maintain an efficient, coordinated and economic system of electricity supply for all parts of the country, it has to consider that the majority of its target consumers are low income earners.
