The city of Asaba, the Delta State capital, will come alive today as College of Commerce Warri battle Odendedenis Mixed in the final of the 2021 Principals Cup Football competition at the Stephen Keshi stadium.
Defending champions, College of Commerce are aiming to become the first team to win the youth tournament back-to-back.
The developmental football fiesta organized for all secondary schools in Delta State is in its 5th edition courtesy of the partnership between Zenith Bank PLC, the sponsors, and the state government.
To get to the final, College of Commerce were forced into a ‘marathon’ penalty shootout by Ovwor Mixed Secondary School which ended 21-20 in favour of the former.
Osadenis Mixed Secondary School however had an easy ride over Alaka Grammar School, Ozoro with a commanding 4-0 victory to book a final ticket.
The CEO of Hideaplus, organisers of the event, Tony Pemu has said the two finalists would thrill spectators on in what is going to be a thrilling final.
Already, apart from cash prizes, Zenith Bank has promised all the four finalists gift items of various categories.
The third place match between the two losing finalists, Alaka Grammar School, Ozoro and Ovwor Mixed Secondary School will serve as a prelude to the grand finale.
