Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has disbursed over N1 billion grants for School Improvement Grant (SIG) of Adolescent Girls Initiative Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) under the World Bank Assisted Project in the state.

The governor also donated three vehicles and commissioned the Borno State AGILE Implementation Units Office 

Speaking at the occasion held at the new AGILE office in Maiduguri, Governor Zulum reiterated government’s commitment to revive education in the state. 

Represented by an educationist, Musa Inuwa Kubo, the governor reassured his readiness to partner with the World Bank to achieve the desire objectives.

Earlier, Borno State Coordinator of Adolescent Girls Initiative Learning and Empowerment (AGILE), Engineer Ibrahim Baba, said the School Based Management Committee would be responsible for the development and management of all schools with the cash provided.

Responding on behalf of benefiting schools, Principal of Yarwa Government Girls Secondary School, Maiduguri, Hajiya Falmata Mustapha, thanked AGILE for the intervention and assured of the judicious use of the funds.
