Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State
The effort of Governor Babagan Umara Zulum to cushion the effect of subsidy removal by providing 70 buses to public servants and the general public in Maiduguri Metropolis is commendable. Eventually, these buses helped reduce the scarcity of vehicles and ease the cost of transport fares in the metropolis, so people can now reach their various destinations at a lower cost.
Borno State has 27 local government areas, including Maiduguri, which is the capital city of the state. It can be said that the governor has more focus in the metropolis and has forgotten the people living in the other 26 local government areas in providing social welfare. Even last year, the governor released a dozen of buses to ease transportation within the metropolis.
Nevertheless, the state has experienced insurgency for years, especially the activities of Boko Haram, which played a significant role in destroying the state, especially the 26 local governments. In those areas, there are no accessible and clear roads, no adequate food, and a lack of basic education that is prodigiously helping to throw the people into a shackle of illiteracy.
Indeed, lives in those areas are now difficult due to the soaring cost of living caused by the recent removal of fuel subsidies, making it hard for people to engage in their daily activities such as trading and framing in order to put something in their mouths.

Obviously, these people living laborious lives in rural areas are the ones supposed to be pampered with subsidized buses and clear roads. Therefore, I appeal to the governor to come to their aid and do the needful to ease the difficulties in those areas.
