Zulum, please revisit the verification exercise in Biu LG

Borno State Governor, Professor Bababgana Zulum

I was scrolling my facebook timeline when I came across some people expressing shock at the sacking of some workers in Biu Local Government Area, Borno State.

It is so disheartening for government to take such decision at a time when unemployment is seen as one of the major causes of the current security challenges facing the state.

I recalled the implementation of IPPIS by President Buhari to flush out ghost workers in federal ministries, departments and agencies in the country, but the case in Borno is different because it was concluded that the affected people were ghost workers.

Athough a committee was set up to undertake a verification of all workers unfortunately sentiments came into play during the process.

I wish to, therefore, call on Governor Babagana Umara Zulum to set up another committee to review the previous verification exercise and correct the anomalies.

Sir, you need to look into the verification exercise because a lot of innocent workers, who depend on the salary to carter for their families, were sacked.

It is on record that 1009 workers were sacked. Your Excellency sir, this would further aggrevate tension not only in Biu and environs but the state as a whole.

Your Excellency sir, millions of people in the state are counting on you. They appreciate your effort to see that all the IDPs have returned to their ancestral homes.

You are the best performing governor in the country.  May Allah bless you and keep guiding and protect you against your enemies.  But this is a rescue mission.
