The Borno State government has approved and released the sum of eighty-one million seven hundred and thirteen thousand nine hundred and twenty-six naira (N81, 713, 926) for payment of arrears owed local government pensioners across the state.
According to the ministerial secretary, Borno State Local Government Pensions Board, Aja Bukar Gana disclosed on Tuesday in Maiduguri at the flag-off the payment of six months’ arrears to pensioners who retired about one year ago.
He said the beneficiaries cut across local government areas and they were given their cheques at the Borno State Local Government Pensions Board.

Aja assured that henceforth whoever retires from the local government system will be automatically migrated from salaries to pension payments to get their benefits as when due.
