The 12th edition of the annual Zuma film festival being organized by the Nigerian Film Corporation, (NFC) will begin in Abuja on Sunday.

This year’s edition is being hosted by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

 Organisers said the event is aimed at providing residents of Abuja an investment opportunity in the nation’s creative economy and harness such opportunities to develop local talents in the FCT.

 In her address, at a press briefing on the event, FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, said FCT was garnering a reputation as a pleasant tourist destination, “with its rich cultural mix, beautiful sights and a bustling entertainment industry. It’s a reputation we intend to sustain using the Zuma Film Festival as a springboard.

 Speaking earlier, Managing Director/Chief Executive Nigeria Film Corporation, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, corroborated the minister, saying NFC is determined to use the 12th edition to commence a total transmission of the film, cinema and tourism activities in the country, especially in the FCT.
