The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) has trained and empowered 150 mechanics in Kano on modern skills of repair and maintenance of heavy-duty vehicles.
The 2-week event, provided by Hi-Grade Motors Service Kano, trained mechanics from the three northern geo-political zones.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the training at Bayero University Kano via zoom, the Director-General of NADDC, Jelani Aliyu, said it was aimed at developing the capacity of heavy-duty auto-mechanics, auto-electric and other auxiliary services.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment, Dr Sani Gwarzo, urged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the opportunity and improve themselves.
Gwarzo also assured that the ministry would continue to support the training to prepare Nigerian mechanics on the modern skills of the profession.
Chronicle reports that each of the beneficiaries received an empowerment pack of modern working tools, equipment and certificates of attendance.
