Solomon Dansura, whose sister-in-law was kidnapped on Sunday in the Dong community of Jos North Local Government Area, Plateau State, has revealed that the victim had a wedding planned for this Saturday. 

He said the abductees are still in captivity and expressed worry about their condition. 

Dansura’s sister-in-law, Plandes Nelson, and a relative, Bride Benat, a 300-level student at the University of Jos, were abducted from his house when perpetrators broke into the compound at night while family members were about to go to bed. 

According to Dansura, his sister-in-law is a corps member serving in Bauchi. 

He stated that, “She has a wedding plan on Saturday and with the wedding process underway, she was supposed to return for the preparations. It was the wedding process that brought her back home.“

Regarding the victims’ whereabouts, Dansura said, “The kidnappers keep calling, demanding a N50 million ransom. I keep telling them I don’t have that kind of money. As a civil servant, I don’t have N50 million. I pleaded with them because we genuinely don’t have the money.”

Dansura called on security agencies to take necessary action to ensure the rescue of the victims.

The police are yet to respond to journalists regarding the incident. 

Daily Trust reports that the abduction has reignited widespread fear in Dong, where residents say kidnappings have become common. 

District Head Adagwom Kaze Nyam and community leader Nenfort Clifford voiced deep concerns, urging authorities to urgently deploy more security to protect lives and property.
