The Bauchi State Civil Service Commission has dismissed two senior officers for forgery.

In a statement issued Wednesday, the commission’s spokesperson, Saleh Umar, said the decision was taken at the commission’s 35th plenary session on Tuesday.

The affected officers are Administrative Officer Yusuf Ningi and Principal Officer I Suleiman Ahmed.

According to Umar, the offence violated Public Service Rule 0327 (ii, iii, and vi).

The officers, who were posted to Government House from the Office of the Head of Civil Service, were dismissed with effect from September 23.

Commission Chairman Dr. Ibrahim Muhammad warned civil servants to abide by the rules and regulations governing public service and to comply with both internal and external circulars in carrying out their duties.

He emphasised that adherence to established laws would help eliminate corruption and improve service delivery.

Muhammad reiterated the commission’s commitment to integrity, discipline, and ethical conduct within the civil service.

Meanwhile, the plenary also formalised the promotion of three substantive directors and endorsed the elevation of four deputy directors to the rank of director. Positions affected include Directors of Administration and Human Resources, Audit, Planning, Research and Statistics, Civil Litigation, and Land Valuation.
