Haruna Abdullahi, a 75-year-old man from Gumel in Jigawa State, has been found dead at the gate the popular Kure Ultra Modern Market, Minna, Niger State.

The circumstance that led to his death could not be ascertained, but traders told Daily Trust that his body was discovered lifeless on Friday.

SP Wasiu Abiodun, spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, confirmed the incident to our correspondent.

He said “Today 18/4/2025 at early hours of the day, a corpse which was later identified as one Haruna Abdullahi, about 75yrs was found at Kure market’s gate.

“He was said to be a beggar, Hausa by tribe, from Gumel Jigawa State. There was no mark of violence on the body and he was taken to hospital where he was confirmed dead”.
