Chisco Express Limited a logistics arm of Chisco Transport, has expressed readiness to deploy its vehicle assets to tap into the opportunity in aviation cargo.

CEO of Chisco Express, Mr. Obinna Anyaegbu, disclosed this in his presentation at the Second Chinet Aviacargo conference held in Lagos.

Going by the huge exploits of Chisco Group, a popular brand in the road transportation ecosystem, the logistics arm is exploring the opportunity in aviation to deepen its strides in the logistics value chain.

He said with over 780 vehicles in operation, Chisco Express is ready to deploy its assets to expand its footprint to the aviation industry.

According to him, there is a lot that can be done in the aviacargo business.

This, he said, explains why Chisco Express is planning to bridge the gap in the aviation cargo business.

Anyaegbu also noted that Nigeria needs more African products to boost the transportation logistics arm.

He said, “Chinese people want to eat our bananas, plantain and pineapples. We have one of the most nutritious fruits in the world but demand and supply are not meeting at the moment and that is why Chisco Express wants to bridge this gap.

“We have always made assets available for traders and this is what we have done for the last 40 years. But government and the regulatory bodies have to be involved.

“We have seen aviation investments go bad, so if we have to do this in the aviation sector, we want to ensure we do this correctly with the government parastatals and traders that have contracts for supply in Europe and other parts of the world.”
