The Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria has tasked all the State Houses of Assembly to ensure passage of law on financial autonomy for state legislature and judiciary.
In a communique signed by the chairman, Abubakar Suleiman, in Bauchi on Friday, the conference said they should sign the Funds Management Bill in their states for the effective implementation of the executive order.

The conference also appealed to the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) to exercise restraint in its struggle, noting that a committee has been set up to engage the association with a view to resolving the lingering issues that led to the industrial action.
The conference also decries the spate of insecurity in the country, while commending the efforts of the federal government in fighting the insecurity in the country. The forum advocated community policing.
