Edwin Mathew, the distribution and marketing manager of a Kano-based soft drinks maker is to appear before the Federal High Court in Kano on May 13 to explain his role in the disappearance of 10 trucks of pop cola drinks meant to be delivered to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
Justice MS Shuaibu ordered police to bring the employee before the court at the next adjourned date because his name featured prominently in the case instituted against One Abdulrazak Baffa, transporter and a local malam.
While Baffa was entrusted with the 10 trucks loaded with pop cola worth ₦300 million for distribution in Borno State, the local malam was hired to make special supplications for the success of the business trip.
Police had arrested the duo and filed formal charges against them but the trial judge granted them bail with stringent conditions, directing the prosecution to bring the marketing manager of the company to court to explain circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the goods.

He adjourned the matter to May 13 for further hearing.
