A Lagos High Court has ordered social media critic Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, to payN200,000 in a defamation suit filed by human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) and his son, rapper and activist Folarin Falana (Falz).
The N1 billion lawsuit stems from a 2024 viral video where Otse accused the Falanas of hypocrisy and alleged they helped secure freedom for crossdresser Bobrisky, who claimed EFCC officials collected N15 million to drop money laundering charges.
VeryDarkMan named Falana and Falz as those behind Bobrisky’s release, prompting the father-son duo to sue for defamation.
Otse challenged the suit, arguing the court lacked jurisdiction since the alleged offence occurred outside Lagos.

The court dismissed his objection as baseless and ordered him to pay N100,000 each to the Falanas.
Falz appeared in court, while Femi Falana was represented by lawyers.
VeryDarkMan was absent but represented by counsel Marvin Omorogbe.
