The Daily Trust Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Media Trust Group, publishers of Daily Trust titles, Aminiya newspaper, Trust TV and radio, has donated essential food items to orphanages in Abuja and Kaduna.
The beneficiaries, which included the Abuja Children Home, NASFAT Agency for Zakat and Sadaqat (NAZASAT), Jam’iyar Matan Arewa (JMA) Premier Orphanage, and Malali Orphanage, received items including rice, vegetable oil, and palm oil.
Speaking during the presentation, the Programme Officer of the foundation, Ele S. Ifah, said the gesture was aimed at supporting orphans, especially during the sallah festivity.
“Ifah expressed hope that the items would go a long way in alleviating the challenges faced by the children,” he said.

Mrs. Joy Michael, while responding on behalf of the management of Abuja Children’s Home, expressed gratitude to the Daily Trust Foundation for the commitment and support towards the Abuja Children’s Home.
In her remarks, the President of Jam’iyar Matan Arewa, Rabi Saulawa, appreciated the foundation for its sustained support to the orphanage over the years.
She said the donation would significantly assist in catering for the needs of the children.
Also speaking, the Office Manager of Malali Orphanage, Sa’adu Dabo, explained that although the organisation does not operate a residential facility for orphans, it identifies vulnerable children living with relatives for support.
Dabo said the items would be distributed to registered orphans under the organisation’s care, while commending the foundation for its consistent assistance and praying for the success of its activities.
The foundation regularly carries out humanitarian and community support interventions across Nigeria, focusing on vulnerable groups, education, health and humanitarian assistance.
