Entrepreneurs decry dearth of funding

Young entrepreneurs have identified access to finance as a key challenge through a pro-poor growth and promotion of employment programme tagged SEDIN, which aims at improving the employment and income situation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria.
The Coordinator of SEDIN, Babafemi Oyediran, during a webinar training, said it provided an opportunity for the participants and similar programmes to network, share ideas and take-away lessons that would help to drive and sustain economic development for the benefit of all Nigerians.

One of the participants, Joseph Lucas, 23, said his shoemaking business received a boost from producing just 10 shoes per month to 60 through the effort of the SEDIN assisted programme.
The programme, tagged ‘SEDIN-Accelerating Impact, Improving the Economy’, is funded by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) with co-financing from the European Union (EU).
